DAY OF ACTION
DAY OF ACTION
We’re drawing the line. We’re gathering in Harrisburg to demand PA legislators get money out of politics and stand up to corporate greed. Will you join us?
As attacks on working people intensify, billionaires are continuing to pour huge amounts of money into our political process — never before in American history have so few had so much wealth and economic and political power. If we want a government representing we the people, not billionaires, we need to get money out of politics.
Schedule:
12:30-1:30PM: Meet Up and Lunch at Grace United Methodist Church
2:00-3:00PM: Rally in the Main Capitol Rotunda
Pennsylvania is one of the most corrupt states in America:
We one of only three states that has no limits on gifts that lobbyists and billionaires can give lawmakers–gifts can include everything from all-paid vacations to Europe, box seats at Penn State games, wining and dining, and more.
We are one of 10 states with unlimited campaign contributions. Billionaires like Jeff Yass can cut checks of any size whenever he wants.
Pennsylvania’s full-time State Legislators can work unlimited side jobs and work toward future revolving door lobbyist jobs with obvious conflicts of interest.
We have unlimited secret Super PAC cash swirling through our political system, spreading hate and turning us against our neighbors.
Top Legislative Leaders in Harrisburg tell us that there is no time to get money out of politics and that systemic legalized bribery is actually not a bad thing.
We need to stand together and demand that legislators outlaw their own corruption and get money out of politics!
RSVP for more info! We'll be coordinating carpools across the state, and providing housing for those who need it. Please indicate on the RSVP whether you'd like to carpool, and whether you'll need housing.
