I’m planning on marching. What do I pack?

Here is quick list of essential items that marchers should bring with them: warm and cool clothes, sleeping bag and/or pillow, comfortable walking shoes, clean socks, toiletry supplies, towel (showers are rarely, but sometimes available.), sunscreen/bug spray, poncho.

We will do our best to accommodate any supplies that marchers’ need during our journey.

Do I have to carry my bags?

No! There will be vehicle support to transport marchers’ baggage during the march to our host location each evening.

Do I have to march the entire length of the journey?

No! Marchers can join us for one block, one mile, or the entire journey.

Where are we staying?

We secure housing each night for all marchers - generally at churches or social justice organization. However, that does not always mean a bed. Often, we sleep on the floor. If you need further accommodation, we can help find and book a hotel, but cannot pay for marchers’ hotels.

Do I have to raise money?

While it is not required, we do ask that marchers fundraise and collect donations to help offset the cost of the March and help provide for future actions.

Are meals provided?

Yes! We will provide all meals and snacks. Our lovely volunteers, prepare lunches and snacks for us each day and our evening hosts (generally) provide dinner.

I’m allergic, gluten-free, etc.

Make sure to note all allergies and food specifications when registering to march. We will always accommodate all food issues to make sure that everyone has something to eat.

I am not able to walk long distances. Are there other ways that I can help during the march?

For those that cannot walk long distances, there are other ways to help during the march. We need help with things like preparing meals and driving support vehicles. Indicate on your registration if you are interested in joining the march as non-walker.

What if I injure myself during the march?

We will have medics available for minor injuries incurred during the march.

What is the schedule for each day?
